What's selling at the Cafeteria..

I find it very offensive and silly when people point to spelling and grammar mistakes on small-time shops and hoardings. But I couldn't resist putting this one up here.

w69i

It had a 3 mega pixel camera. And played the local FM radio too. He also mentioned about the bluetooth, wi-fi and the sort of things she had never heard of before. Being a small town girl, she marveled at the small device that could do so much.
And then there was this thing called the world wide web where people had easy access to information from all over the world. It was the 8th most downloaded video on the internet last week. Now, she sure wished the mobile phone wasn't there when they made love that night. As she bid goodbye to mama and the rest of the world, she swore to haunt the motherfucker who tricked her into this.

The One Rupee...

Following on Kesh's what one rupee can buy, here's my story on the rupee.

I was at this bhajji shop for a evening snack. There was this guy beside me who looked like a daily wage labourer. He had another guy with him. He gave the shopwallah 4 bucks and asked for a plate of mirchi bhajji. One plate(4 pieces) costed 5 bucks. On learning the cost, he mused for a while and settled for half a plate and collected his Rs.1.50 back. I don't know. He probably could have haggled for the rupee. But he seemed too proud to do that or to ask his friend for one. I'm sure he'd have come up with another rupee if he'd digged his pockets. But I guess he thought the rupee would be better spent elsewhere. As he bit into his bhajji, I knew how much he relished his hard earned money.

With me, one rupee is usually the change left after buying a king lights. It sits in my jeans pocket somewhere, or left on my table ignored for days together. Until someday I see that I got only a 100 or a 500 note and the need comes for 'the one', when 4 of those go up in smoke again.

Ronaldo...The legend

Last week, Ronaldo could have well Played his last game for Milan. After being stretchered out for a torn knee ligament, he would be out of action for atleast 8 months. He has been going through a bad patch for quite sometime now. First he went out of favor at Real, which saw a sad end to the galactico era. A time when Real wasted talents such as Beckham, Owen, Morientes and Ronaldo himself. Then he had to make way out of the Brazilian side for the enormous amount of talent waiting in line. Moving to Milan, he spent a frustrating period on the sidelines watching Milan win the Champions League as he was cup-tied with Real. One of the best strikers the modern era has seen, three time world-player-of-the-year, all but 31, Ronaldo surely deserves another shot at one of the big clubs.

Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo is at the top of his game. Having already bettered his goal tally of last season, he looks set to break more records as United vie to capture the treble. He's been awesome with the dead ball this season. He's come a long way from his early days when he was accused of selfish play. One thing for sure, he's put the world cup ghosts to rest. With an team-up with the likes of Rooney, Tevez, Nani he shouldn't be looking at the Spanish clubs for sometime at least.

Mac, Feed my countrymen!!!

Yes!!! I'd like to have fries with it. Put up a trendy stall. Sell it real cheap. Give the kids all the goodies. With extra cheese and mayonnaise. Make them all obese.

for my valentine....

I hadn't seen her for a while. Heard she was sick sometime back. But I never cared to find out what happened. We weren't all that close you know. Just a little chat here and there about work. But today when I saw her, she looked troubled. I thought she really needed someone to comfort her. She rested her head on my shoulder. Of course I know she's married. I don't remember she saying anything. Just a quite walk around, away from the buzzing life, away from all the chores. I thought it did her some good.

I woke up, damned the dreams and got to work. As I was passing through her manager's cabin, I noticed she was in there. I stopped to take a peek. She was feeling much better now.

Change We can believe in!

Yes Obama. We believe in change. Now can you please change your rally cry? Its been doing rounds for more than a year now. Think of something else for the presidential campaign at least.

Does Bangalore need a Thackeray?

Boy should I publish this post? What if it seeps to the press? This might be the talking point in India at 9 today. Narayana Murthy and Ramachandra Guha might get down to a dog fight. What if Kumble kicks Dravid's ass out of the test team. You get to the office pantry to find no takers for dozens of water bottles. Will Devegowda embrace Jayalalitha for her Kannada roots?

Would they hunt me down with my gmail id? Just imagine news rounds that I'm going to be arrested sooner or later. Who'd come to my support? No one, given that I don't have any prior experience in inciting riots. But wait this can be a launch pad for me. Just imagine all the publicity I'll get. Maybe I can get out of jail and join hands with a Kannada Vedike and become their leader. But then I'll have to rally around the same cry all through my life just to get the votes. Would I end up being like a Modi or Advani.
Why take all the risk. I guess I'll just leave it at this.
