Back to listening...

Indi-pop. Alisha Chinai, Pankaj Udhas, Bally Sagoo, Instant karma.
Nice music I think. Even though some are recycled. Somewhat reminds me of the days in school. Rock takes a break. Satya's 'Badalon se' still tops the most played on my list.
Youtube's video unplugging is really cool. Never found one to download mp3 so peacefully.

Ice ice...

Kimi took full advantage of Hamilton's nerve and Alonso's woes. In the end I think it was fitting for the iceman to win the title. Hamilton and Alonso have only themselves to blame for conceding the title and McLaren are saved from the blushes of a tainted title. They would look to start afresh and prove the point next year. Hamilton would be geared up. But where's Alonso headed? Moving out of McLaren would surely end any hopes of another title for him. With ferrari doors closed for another two years, Renault not looking convincing at all, Will Alonso endure another tough year at McLaren alongside Hamilton. He should curse his fate for landing in such a dilemma after his move to Mclaren with 2 titles. This has been a great year for formula one. The year Michael Schumacher quit formula one.
Another news is the Indian team next year. With the Indian grand prix still awaiting approval and absolutely no hopes of the Indian flag flying on the podium, Vijay Mallya has decided to paint his car in tri-colours to woo the Indian audience. Very patriotic it might seem at first, naming the team 'Force India' and deciding to use the India colors on the car. But we know its all for the money in the Indian viewership. Nevertheless, a great move by Mallya to enter formula one, the maverick he is, never would he leave his passions unrealized.

Hari Singh

This guy is some 80 year old. I never thought he'd be so interesting to talk to. Parks at our place whenever there's a cricket match. Bashes Mandira big time. Shares a lot of my interests apart from cricket. He's been following English football since the 50's and also was at the silverstone grand prix in 1953. Also a avid gambler in his early days, his tales never bore me. I don't understand why people are ignored and left in solitude when there's so much to learn from them.

Why blog?

No one's got the time to listen to you these days. Everyone has lots to tell. They just wouldn't let you finish your tale. They start off with some cock n bull just to make sure they aren't left out. Blogging surely helps.

Night at the busstop

I was waiting for my bus to bangalore when this small girl comes along with her palm spread. She's just around 6 years. Has a baby dangling on her hips, the baby's just over 6 months. I reach out to my jeans searching for some change. She wouldn't even wait for me. She's seen people do it all day and its already about her eobd. There's a heap of sand by the side and she just rests on her knees. She found her playstation after a day's hard work. She flattens the sand at one corner and starts drawing some designs. Curls, circles and stars. How I wished she had gone to school at some point.

There's a big racket controlling these children who are forced to beg. Small babies are rented out to these people by poor parents who are out on daily labor. They get a small amount in return and their baby back at the end of the day. And these kids are to deposit their collection at regular intervals to the controllers who keep a watch on them throughout. This is the worst ever thing that could happen and more so in big cities where there's a economic disparity big enough to run this business.
What should we do. This is something very obvious. Probably learned people don't give as much thought to it. Dropping a penny off seems to be a easier job. I don't blame anyone. No one wants to take the trouble of trying to solve this problem. Police and stuff. People just want to stay away from all that. The so-called NGO's I dont understand what they do. I once tried apprehending a guy who was using kids to beg. I just couldn't do anything. He just whisked away.
These kids don't have a better life as they grow up. They would probably be shifted to flesh-trade or made housemaids when they are big enough not to raise sympathy for money. This to me seems to be the root of all social exploitations. Can we do something about this?

Its nice to write about something like this and consider your job done. Get page hits. Get paid by google too if you are feeling lucky. There'll be loads of comments sympathizing, condoling, reasoning out, offering solutions. But is that all?. Can't we take a step outside leaving the keyboard and work out something about it.
