Its been a boring week while the dust from Euro and Wimbledon settles down. F1 has been a little drab this season. I want Kubica to take the title but I think Raikkonen will win. And what about rumors about him quitting the scene with 2 titles? I'm sure Michael Schumacher would have some advice for him on that. Would this mean a drive in the red car for Alonso next year?
Nadal really needs to win both the Olympic gold and the Open to erase the reminiscences of Federer. How many times have you heard this..'You know he's still the Number 1 and the best player'....
Coming out of Euro, Ronaldo has somewhat lost the sheen he was likened to all the year. The Spanish Armada completely took the honors with Ronaldo not being named in the team of the tournament. This has somewhat silenced his pursuers who were hot on the heels of United before the tournament started. Looks like he's gonna spend another year with United.
Real Madrid looks the team for the next year. Robben, Sneijder, Ramos, Casillas, Pepe all were impressive at the Euro. They will be my favorites to lift the Champions League.
One major attraction next season would be the come back of Mourinho. He was sorely missed on the dug-out. Inter should enter the last few stages with Mourinho at the helm and it would be a bonus if he can get a few of his Chelsea mates to Inter.
Scolari is a spent force. Portugal lacked a good striker and it was for Ronaldo to do everything. He under used Quaresma who I thought should have played more games than Simao. The team dint change much after the world cup which was one reason Portugal went out early. I dont think Scolari's going to do anything special to Chelsea and better what Avram Grant did. Chelsea have a strong squad and hopefully Shevchenko can do some magic this time.
Arsenal and Liverpool would still lack the thing to clinch any major trophies this season. Liverpool will again be depending on Torres to get them to the top four.
Arsenal always think they got all the right men but how close will they get this time?
