Meet Shivendra
Shivendra dropped out of school after studying his PUC, with his family struggling to meet its ends. His alcoholic dad dint help the situation much. He somehow managed to get a small time job in the kitchen of an army base. Cleaning and making it hygienic for the next day's meal. After three months there, he made it to Bangalore helped by a friend. He ended up at The Chancery after small stints at some restaurants. He worked there as a waiter for more than a year where he picked up most of his English.
Today he works for Convergys in the Microsoft Tech support division. He may not know the basics of computing but handles queries on Microsoft Outlook and Office with ease. He's got the new accent and a new avatar-Steve. Shiv also sends a decent dough back home, hits the bottle at Fuga and spends hours on the mobile phone talking to his girlfriend.
Cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad have changed the lives of many much beyond their imaginations and of course there are a plenty more with big cars who cant stop cribbing about the traffic and the lack of infrastructure.
